Arden Tree Day is like an old-fashioned barn raising….
even though everyone can’t physically plant, folks do what they can
and together we’ll keep our neighborhood a nice place to live in the
years ahead. Meet your neighbors and be part of a community
celebration.
We have jobs for adults, seniors, children and family groups.
Next Years is set for
Sunday, March 12th 2005 Santa Anita Area near Howe Park
Sunday, October 30th. 2005 other neighborhoods
Planting Starts 9 am.
Or come and help mulch at 1 pm. (See below for schedule.)
> Plant Trees for Seniors
> Deliver Mulch to all Trees
> Make Lunches for Planters
> Help distribute fliers on Tree Care
> Children start Acorns to plant in future years trees
> Drive Trucks to Deliver Mulch

If you are arriving after 9:30 AM, call cell 871-2388 and we will tell
you where to join planting crews out in the neighborhood.
WHAT TO BRING: Planters are encouraged to bring gloves,
shovels, mallets and cell phones. If you have a pickup truck, we
need help distributing wood chips to all the new trees.
SCHEDULE:
8 am Neighborhood Organizers Meet Arden Park /Howe Park
9 AM Shift 1 Volunteers Start Planting Training Begins in all 4
Neighborhoods. Flier distribution begins.
10 am Sandwitch/lunch makers Please show up by 10 am to help
prepare sandwiches, or better yet bring pre-made sandwiches,
sweets, drinks or complete lunches. Call Santa Anita: TBD,
Arden: Elaine McKim at 489-4076 to tell her how you will help. If
you can bring juice or sweets at 8:45 am to neighborhood planting
training spots.
NOON Lunch time celebration.
March 6th. Howe Park Rec Center.
Oct 30th: Arden All volunteers come together for provided brown
bag lunch at La Sierra Park in Arden Park.
(DIRECTIONS: take Arden Way to La Sierra light between Watt
and Eastern, then south to the Park. Or take Hurley Way east
across Watt Ave. to very end at La Sierra )
1 pm. Shift 2 Volunteers: Mulching Effort starts.
Oct 30th Planting Only....
1 pm Arden Park Rec: Children's Program select and start
acorn in pots to take to plant in later years at Arden Park Rec
Center (1000 La Sierra Drive)
