Arden Tree Care Day goal is to focuses neighborhood attention on sustaining their investment in new trees by assuring some important by quick basic technique that will both double a young trees growth rate and avoid expensive arborist care when it grows older. This year Tree Care Day begin with classes held Arden Park Recreation Center on Sun, February 12, 2006. It will consists of: 1) Pruning and Care Classes held on local park for people to care for their own trees. This year classes will be held at 9 am and 1 pm at the Arden Park Rec Center. 2) Providing free mulch for the taking at a local park. 3) For Street Tree, making available trained, supervised volunteers to help re-mulch, review staking, and prune as necessary. Seniors and anyone else who will not be attending the class are urged to sign up: your young tree -- and the entire neighborhood -- will suffer if it is not pruned and remulched. If you aren't going to do it, ask for help. PLEASE DON'T RELY ON UNTRAINED LAWN MOWER CREWS TO PRUNE YOUR YOUNG TREE. They could permanently destroy its structure by topping.
